Die Weltsprache Spanisch ist groß im Kommen

Die spanische Sprache steht an Platz 4 der meist gesprochenen Sprachen der Welt. Und 455 Millionen Menschen sprechen Spanisch als Muttersprache. Das sind mehr Spanischmuttersprachler als Englischmuttersprachler - Tendenz übrigens steigend, denn die meisten Spanisch sprechenden Menschen leben in Süd- und Mittelamerika, und natürlich in Spanien ;). Alleine in den USA sprechen 45 Millionen Menschen Spanisch! Spanisch ist außerdem die Sprache, die (nach Englisch) am häufigsten gelernt wird. Spanisch sprechen zu können ist also sehr begehrt. Und dass somit die Nachfrage an Spanischnachhilfe sehr hoch ist, erklärt sich von selbst.

Die spanische (oder auch kastilische) Sprache gehört zum romanischen Zweig der indogermanischen Sprachfamilie. Die WIsenschaft der spanischen Sprache und Literatur heißt Hispanistik.

In Südamerika wird statt von Español von Castellano gesprochen, in Mittelamerika, Mexiko und in den USA eher von Español als von Castellano. In Spanien sind beide Bezeichnungen gültig. 
 Der Begriff Castellano kommt von der Bezeichnung für den im Mittelalter in Kastilien gesprochenen romanischen Dialekt (aus dem das moderne Spanisch hervorging). Als Castellano wird heutzutage der Dialekt in der Region Kastilien bzeichnet.
